Dawson Technologies ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GiveVault.app web application, the GiveVault mobile application for iOS, and the dawsontech.net marketing website. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account on GiveVault.app, we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text.

Donor Information

When donations are made through GiveVault, we collect the donor's name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. This information is necessary for tax receipting, donor communication, and compliance with nonprofit reporting requirements.

Financial Information

We record donation amounts, designations, disbursements, and related transaction data as part of our nonprofit fiscal management services. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.

Authentication Data

If you use biometric login (Face ID or Touch ID) on the mobile app, your biometric data is processed entirely on your device by Apple's authentication framework. We never receive or store biometric data. If you register a passkey, the cryptographic credential is stored by your device and iCloud Keychain; we store only a public key identifier on our server.

Contact Form (dawsontech.net)

When you submit our contact form, your name, email, organization, and message are sent to Formspree, a third-party form processing service. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam. Cloudflare may collect browser telemetry as part of its bot detection; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Automatically Collected Information

Our marketing website loads the Inter font from Google Fonts, which may result in your IP address being transmitted to Google. We do not use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising pixels on dawsontech.net. The GiveVault.app web application does not use third-party analytics or tracking.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide nonprofit fiscal management services, including donation processing, tax receipting, fund accounting, and disbursements
  • To authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • To send transactional emails such as tax receipts, donation confirmations, and account verification
  • To enable missionaries to communicate with their donors through email campaigns
  • To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
  • To maintain audit logs for financial compliance

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate GiveVault:

  • Stripe — Payment processing for donations and recurring subscriptions
  • Plaid — Bank account connections for reconciliation (used by administrators only)
  • Mailgun — Transactional and campaign email delivery
  • Amazon S3 — Secure storage for file attachments
  • Formspree — Contact form processing on dawsontech.net
  • Cloudflare — Spam protection on our contact form

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing the data they process on our behalf. We select service providers that maintain appropriate security practices and limit data sharing to what is necessary for their function.

Data Security

We protect your data using encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, secure password hashing, and access controls. Financial data changes are tracked through an immutable audit log. Access to donor and financial information is restricted based on user roles.

Data Retention

Financial records, donation history, and tax receipts are retained as long as required by applicable nonprofit reporting regulations and the needs of the organizations we serve. Account information is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us, subject to any legal retention requirements that apply to the organization managing your data.

Multi-Tenant Data Isolation

GiveVault supports multiple organizations on a shared platform. Each organization's data is logically isolated. Users, donors, missionaries, donations, and financial records belonging to one organization are not accessible to another organization's users or administrators.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [email protected]. Because GiveVault is used by nonprofit organizations, some requests may need to be coordinated with the organization that manages your donor or missionary records.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
